The view from M Holiday Bali Villa

On clear days, from your holiday villa in Bali, you will have an awesome view of Bali’s chain of volcanoes, extending from Mt.Batukaru, Mt.Sangkiang and Mt. Pohen, to Mt.Batur and the mighty Mt.Agung in the east.

At 2276 meters above sea level, Mt.Batukaru is the island’s second highest peak. The area around this mountain boasts the greatest biological diversity in Bali. Here, local guides lead visitors on anything from gentle hikes through the food forest and jungle, to challenging treks. The encompassing food forest yields coffee, cacao, palm-sugar, vanilla, candlenut, cloves and tropical fruits such as durian, jack-fruit, mangosteen, salak (snake-fruit), coconuts and avocados- to name but a few. Within the higher climes, watered by the mountain streams, there are all sorts of strange jungle blooms, lichens and moss, prehistoric tree ferns, wildflowers, creepers and orchids. Endemic to this area is the rare black leaf-eating monkey, the kijang (small forest deer); beautiful butterflies and moths; flying lizards; the landuk (porcupine) and the lubak-a mongoose that cries in the night like a baby! It is also a bird wacther’s paradise, habitat of the Java kingfisher and the Bali Black Eagle.

If you want to explore Mt.Batukaru, it is just one hour from Villa M Bali. Alternatively, you can just sit back and enjoy the beautiful views of this mountain from the pool deck and gardens of Villa M, your luxury villa in Bali.
